The “new” trends featured in today’s post are more like new interpretations of classic motifs…which makes them timeless! After all, does tropical style really ever go out of style? And who can beat the breezy look of black and white when it’s given an earthy twist? Throw in some crisp blue and white, and you have a recipe for spring style that can last all the way through the summer. Read on as we highlight our three favorite tabletop trends (currently offered by top retailers)
Pottery Barn‘s PB Classic Belgian Flax Linen Hemstitch Table Runner is made from European-grown flax fibers and is available in a range of neutrals, plus green, red and terra cotta. Below (right), we see the brand’s Velvet Table Runners, which are holiday-perfect:
Another retailer embracing tropical style this season is H&M Home. They take the look in a bright direction by adding shades of teal and turquoise: Also available from H&M Home: a range of textured glass products, such as the pitcher and tumblers below. If your tabletop is covered in green, don’t hesitate to use orange as an accent color. A bowl of fruit such as peaches or tangerines will do the trick!
Wall art that depicts rural life, vases bought from the local antique store, vintage wire shelving and a warm, earthen color palette emphasize the farmhouse-centric theme of the dining room. You can easily give this space a more modern aura by replacing some of the rustic features with modern cabinets, credenzas, rugs and drapes. It is all about finding out what works for you best!
